Adjust the size and spacing of your Desktop icons

For Windows XP

By default, icons are 32×32 pixels in size and occupy 43×43 pixel space. You can easily adjust these settings by right clicking on the Windows Desktop and selecting “Properties | Appearance” tab. | Advanced Tab |”Icon size can be changed by selecting “Icon” from the “Item” drop-down list and the icon spacing can be changed by selecting “Icon spacing (horizontal)” / “Icon spacing (vertical)” items. You can also change the size, font and color.

Look around in these screens many things can be adjusted or changed. You can change the whole look of your desktop and programs.
